This booklet in Marathi is for those who rear sheep and is divided into two sections . The first section looks at sheep rearing systems practiced in the state of Maharashtra especially migratory pastoral systems . It also informs the reader about the main breeds of sheep, how a good ram and ewe are to be selected , economics of sheep rearing and products obtained from sheep. There are chapters on the management of sheep including housing and nutrition and care of pregnant ewes and lambs. The second section deals with the main diseases of sheep, their prevention and treatment. Most of the treatments are safe to use preparations which can be prepared by shepherds themselves.
