Shepherds request
On Dec 1, 2021 North and West India experienced unusual weather and unprecedented rainfall. The rains which started early that morning continued well into the night and flattened crops , destroying the hard work of several farmers . Also affected were migratory shepherds . Especially, shepherds who had penned their animals for the night on fields of harvested cotton . The black sticky soil made it extremely difficult to rescue animals who were stuck in the soil which rapidly turned to clay. Several animals died that night . The shepherds could not call for help as their mobiles were soaked in the unrelenting rain.
A team from Anthra , went on a fact finding mission and spoke to several shepherds . A small documentary has been made to throw light on the situation as well as offer solutions to prevent such incidents in the future .
