Role of Livestock in Sustainable Agriculture
This conference was organised as a pre conference to the 19th Organic World Congress which took place in New Delhi, India in early November.
The conference was held at the campus of the National Centre for Organic Farming in Ghaziabad which is close to New Delhi . The pre conference began with a workshop on medicinal plants which was held at Beejom farm in Noida.
Key note speakers included Prof Donald Broom, Cambridge University, UK who spoke on Sustainability , the Role of Animal Welfare and Silvipastoral Systems and Prof Raymond Auerbach, Nelson Mandela University South Africa who spoke on Integrating Sustainable and Organic Animal Husbandry with efficient resource use in Africa.
From pastoralism and soils to animal welfare and organic meat , the conference covered a diverse range of topics presented by several speakers from different countries .
