Fellowship Announcement
Fellowship Announcement
Anthra is pleased to announce a fellowship for research on “Women in Pastoral Societies”
The body of research and scholarship on pastoral systems is increasing but there is very little academic scholarship on pastoral women, their knowledge related to livestock , land, natural resources, health and nutrition. There is even less documented on their status , their access to resources , assets & services.
We invite applications from researchers interested in the subject to apply for an 18 month fulltime fellowship starting early 2021.
The research will be based in Maharashtra as part of a larger project entitled “ Bringing Visibility and Recognition to Women Livestock Farmers and Pastoralists and their Knowledge” . The researcher will work with pastoral groups in the state of Maharashtra and report to the office in Pune. Knowledge of Marathi is therefore essential. The selected candidate will work closely with experts in the field of pastoralism and gender .
The fellowship carries a monthly stipend of Rs.30,000/- per month for a period of 18 months. There is a separate budget for field related expenses. Field work will be undertaken once the COVID situation resolves.
Applicants are expected to have a Masters degree.
Interested candidates are requested to submit :-
- Their latest CV
- Any recent research articles or writings
- A 700 -1200 word note on why you think this research is important and how you can contribute to the project with skills , knowledge , approaches .
- Two references
