  • Ethnoveterinary training started in Alwar Rajasthan

    A training on documenting ethno-veterinary medicine began in village Bhagatpura, Alwar Rajasthan. The training was hosted by KRAPAVIS. 5 women and 16 men attended the programme. KRAPAVIS is a grass-roots organization concerned chiefly with the community-led revival of village forests, or orans, working in the arid of Thar Desert and semi – arid of Aravali hill bio-regions in Rajasthan. KRAPAVIS mission is clear: the betterment of ecology, agriculture and livestock practices, with a view to the sustainable livelihoods of rural pastoral communities in Rajasthan. ANTHRA ‘s training team- Sanyasi Rao and Sachin trained the group in the social validation method developed by ANTHRA for documenting and validating people’s knowledge. Being close to the Sariska wildlife sanctuary and tiger reserve, the communities here are largely dependant on forest resources for grazing.
